About Lamberts of Southern Illinois
UPDATE: Many thanks to Pauline, who found a marriage record proving the relationship between Thomas J. Lambert and Wesley Lambert.

A collection of information on Lambert families in the southern Illinois counties of: Franklin
        Johnson
        Massac
        Pope
        Pulaski
        Saline
        Union
        Williamson
And I am now adding Hardin and Gallatin counties.

This project grew out of my research into my ggg/grandfather, Hezekiah Lavender Lambert.
Hezekiah was born in Tennessee about 1813; married in Davidson County; his first child was born in Wilson County. By 1850 the family was in Calloway County, Kentucky. And in late 1850, Hezekiah began buying land in nearby Johnson County, Illinois.
I am reasonably certain that his parents were John and Elizabeth (Cartwright) Lambert, but have not yet proven it definitively. On the Lambert side, that is the end of my road.

Finding that he was not, by any means, the only Lambert to move from Tennessee to the Johnson County area, I began to collect information on the others.

My hope is this:
That someday, another Lambert researcher out there will contact me and say, "My family has this story about gggg/uncle Hezekiah . . ."

Well, I can dream, can't I?

Anyway, come on in. Have a cup of coffee. Wander around the Lamberts of southern Illinois.
If you have any information to contribute, it will be greatly appreciated. If you find something here that helps you in your research, please let me know.

And while you're researching elsewhere, keep an eye out for Hezekiah, would you?
